Overview
Veltrix Systems is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Systems Analyst (Intermediate) to support mission-critical cybersecurity operations at Hurlburt Field AFB, Florida. This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance.
As a trusted partner in federal IT and cybersecurity services, Veltrix Systems is looking for a professional who excels at navigating the Risk Management Framework (RMF), performing system assessments, and advising on compliance strategies to support secure and resilient government environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the full lifecycle of Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes under RMF in alignment with DoDI 8510.01 and ICD 503.
- Conduct comprehensive security assessments of networks, systems, and cloud environments against NIST 800-53 controls.
- Perform vulnerability assessments using ACAS, Nessus, SCAP tools, and enforce DISA STIG compliance across environments.
- Track and manage the A&A status of systems governed under the Special Operations Forces Information Environment (SIE).
- Maintain documentation in systems like eMASS and ensure timely preparation of POA&Ms, ATO packages, and certification letters.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including system administrators, network engineers, and integration facilities to remediate findings.
- Provide subject matter expertise on continuous monitoring (ISCM), compliance enforcement, and cybersecurity risk mitigation.
- Coordinate with higher headquarters and external agencies (e.g., USCYBERCOM, DIA, NSA, DISA) to address security authorization and connection approval issues.
- Monitor cybersecurity compliance timelines, including 30/60/90-day accreditation milestones.
Qualifications
Required:
- U.S. Citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- 5+ years of cybersecurity, information assurance, or A&A experience
- Strong understanding of RMF, NIST 800-53, DISA STIGs, and DoD cybersecurity policies
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, ACAS) and policy compliance tools (e.g., SCAP)
- Hands-on experience with cybersecurity documentation systems such as eMASS or Telos Xacta
- IAM Level II certification (e.g., CAP, CISM, CASP+, GSLC)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience supporting Combatant Commands, particularly USSOCOM or USCENTCOM
- Technical background in systems administration, network engineering, or cybersecurity architecture
- Knowledge of endpoint security, SIEM, comply-to-connect, and cyber network defense technologies
